Another Wonderful Retreat Over

Some friends got together this weekend in Cambria.  The reason  for the trip was to see Janice Minyard's trunk show at the quilt guild in Nopomo (the same one I gave a show to in March).  We were there to support her and cheer her on and a few of us to hold her quilts.  But after the show...WE GOT BUSY!

The first one to finish something was Barbara S.  She made this little purse for a granddaughter.

Deo finished this quilt (except for the handles)

Then Barbara Sawyer finished this too.  She was super fast.

I finished binding and embellishing this.  (Close ups will come in another post.)

Grace finished this spring beauty.

Kathy made this - I think she'll make some for the guilds boutique.

And she figured out and finished this beauty.

Yes, Barbara S was on a roll and finished this little top too.

I finished this top - Kathy thinks I should call it 50 Shades of Gray.

Janice bought a sizzex and I got to play with her dies.

I won these block of the months in February and put this baby together with the help of Janice.   Will donate to guild boutique.

And Grace put this little box together too.

Janice finished 2 quilts - embellished one and pieced and quilted another small one - however because they were parts of challenges I am not allowed to show yet.  

We had a fantastic weekend.  A few of us strolled through an antique store and I bought a jar of jewels - some great pins and earrings.  I was able to use some faux pearls on the pink/purple and white quilt above so it was worth it.  We even took time from sewing to walk around a bit.  We ate of course - ALOT!  We are all great cooks and we did not starve for sure.  

I would love to say it's great to be home and part of me is, but I wish I could spend one whole week up there quilting.  Maybe next year I'll plan a week retreat.
