Bonnie's Hunters Mystery Clue 1, a Christmas Quilt and BOM

Bonnie Hunter's annual mystery started this week  (Here's a link to her website and the mystery.) and I was able to spend all day yesterday working on my blocks since I got all my Christmas decorations up on Friday.  I only made one change on her colors this year.  I am using red instead of pink because I had a lot of red left over from my Farmer's Wife quilt.   I quilted my granddaughter's Christmas quilt very simply with straight lines and just outlined the letters and the deer.  But decided to add a few snowflakes in the big blank space using aqua colored thread. I also snuck in making the Fat Quarter Shops 2014 Designer Mystery Block of the Month. I was also able to finish the top of a quilt I started on my retreat a few weeks ago.  (The big blocks on the bottom and right side.)  I made 8 more blocks and put them all together and added a small white border.  And with some pieces that I had to cut off making these blocks I made 64 3.5" HST a

1st Annual Material Girls Wonder Valley Retreat

What a productive weekend for all who came.  Unfortunately only 7 of the 17 members were able to come but we had a GREAT time with great food and conversations.  Here are 6 of the 7 of us.  Diane took the picture so she wasn't in it. We sat in a circle kind of so we can all communicate easily.  We had great weather all weekend except for the fog driving up.  But we all got there Friday morning and sewed until about 1 today. Here are some of the things we all worked on this weekend.  I didn't get pictures of everything like the cute little purses that Diane made and the quilting Kathy did on her Melinda Bula quilt and the quilt bag she was working on today. I finished this little quilt top for my granddaughter.   The beautiful purple grey blocks are what Lynn Marie worked on and the other  blocks are what I got done on my Fireworks quilt top.  (8 of 16 done) Barbara worked on her boutique items.   She made a ton of napkins and started on some aprons yesterd

I also worked on some Christmas gifts.  Not gifts for me to give, but gifts to make for other people to give.  After all the guild boutique items was shown on my Facebook and blog, my sister and two cousins asked for some stuff for their family for Christmas.  How can I say no. My sister wanted bowl cozies for her family.  Luckily I had a few left over from the boutique that didn't sell and just had to make a few more specifically for her. I also made some cup cozies for a cousin.  (didn't get pictures) and then another cousin saw these cute pillows that another person in our guild made and wanted them for her grandchildren.  So I said yes and here are the four. Today my husband, and in-laws took a trip
