More Guild Boutique items and some family pics

I've been busy getting things made for my local guild's annual boutique.  This is our main fundraiser so we can have awesome teachers and to provide fabric and supplies for our charity quilts. I went on a retreat two weekends ago so I got a lot of tops done.  I've been quilting the items during the week. A lot of little gift bags - perfect for a gift card and some candy Cord tacos -perfect for keeping your phone cords from getting tangled Little pillow made from left over blocks from a quilt a friend was making at the retreat.  I backed it with minkee fabric.  Oh so soft. This was a kit from one of Fat Quarter Shops monthly surprise boxes. Picked up this fabric on the Sisters Oregon trip in July. Another Fat Quarter Shop runner kit.  Pardon the toes.  A dress I made for my little granddaughter My step-daughter and grandchildren on their first day of their new school in their new home town.  My nep...

Fall Quilt Finish

I showed a picture of this quilt when I was pinning it.  Here it is all quilted and bound. This was on my resolution quilt list on the right.  So I get to say another one is finished!  And here is a little close up.  I should have pressed it before I photographed it, but I was in a hurry as I was packing fall stuff up today.  I also whipped this little runner up this week.  I didn't want to start a big project as I'm preparing for the Bonnie Hunter En Povence  mystery which starts this week.  Found this paper piece block from We All Sew 's Sugar Plum Runner quilt along and adjusted the block to make a runner.  Probably give it away as a gift or save it for next year's guild boutique. Two weekends ago, I went to Wonder Valley Ranch and had a retreat with my friendship group.  We were a small group but we had fun. They treat us well there although if more people aren't going to come we will just go to our house in Cam...

A Productive Labor Day Weekend at the Coast

A few friends and I spent the weekend in our little house in Cambria.  I had pre-cut a bunch of stuff to work on and I think that helped me get so much done.  Almost everything I made is for our guild's boutique in October.  (Let me know if you are interested in attending - I'll get you the info.) Still needs to be quilted.  Left overs from Mr. Chillingsworth quilt below. An applique of some sort will be on the big white row and still needs to be quilts as does the one below this. Next time (if ever) I make this quilt I will borrow a ruffler.  That was a bitch to make.   I need to make a few more of these.  I've already been asked to make one for my sister and family friend. Needs to be quilted. Need to make a pillow insert since it's an odd size. Mr. Chillingswoth - needs to be quilted. May be used for family gifts.   Infinity scarves all warm and cuddly. This little pumpkin potholder will...

Coxcomb Quilt is Done (and a little Cambria retreat). Oh and I saw Kaffe Fasset

At Road to California 2015 I took Anita Shacklefords Coxcomb class.  This weekend I put the binding on my quilt.  She gifts you a little history of the coxcomb blocks and gives you  stencils to design your own.  This is my version. I spent a lot of time contemplating my quilting.  Well actually it hung in my closet for almost a year.  I was afraid I would ruin it when I quilted it.  I did pin it about 4 weeks ago after I marked it and for the first time ever I had a problem with some of my safety pins rusting.  The older pins.  We turned our swamp cooler on a couple weeks ago and there you go  Most of the spots are in the back, but there are two in the front.  I have been given a few ideas on how to remove the stains.  Wish me luck.   Me and two friends went to Cambria this weekend for a mini retreat.  It seems I didn't get a lot done but I did.  I got the binding on the Coxcomb quilt, I also mad...
