Farmers Wife-Block of the Months all caught up

Whew!  I was 3 months behind on my Farmer's Wife block of the month.  I cut for all the blocks a couple weeks ago and was just sewing a few here and there when I had time.  My goal was to get these done by February.  So just made it. Blocks 55-63 Blocks 64-72 Blocks 73-81 They are not all perfect but they will do.  Here are the finished blocks in EQ. Blocks 1-81 I also got my Fat Quarter Shop block for this month and finished it up tonight.  So I am truly done with all my Block of the Months.  Until Saturday and then it starts all over again. My little granddaughter has her first birthday party this Saturday and the theme is Strawberry Shortcake.  I made her the bib which I showed a few posts ago and then decided to make her this little pillow for her gift.  Kelly really doesn't want more toys for the kids so I try to make something decorative.  I think it came out adorable.  I made it so I can change it out - maybe a Christmas cover to match the Christma

Wonder Valley Squid retreat

S ewciety of Q uilting D iva's - hereby named Squids had our annual retreat at Wonder Valley.  It was beautiful weather with beautiful people who all had the same thing in common --we love to quilt.  I got a lot done but didn't finish completely anything but two St. Patrick's Day pillow cases. Here they are on my bed.  (Picture is upside down - don't know why - but you see the pillow cases. Here are the girls.  Only one was missing from the picture.  She was napping but some of us had to leave to we let her sleep. Will hopefully have my granddaughters little pillow done for her birthday party this weekend. Thanks for looking.

Block of the Month updates

Finally got the Fat Quarter Shops block late. Should be getting this months today and will post once I finish. But here is last months block. And here is my new block next to last months block on Pat Sloans Globetrotting Block of the Month. I was testing the striped sashing to see if I like it. Think I'm going to wait for a few more blocks. And lastly the Block of the Month my friends are doing together. It's based on Shabby Fabrics Christmas BOM that we are making with Fall fabrics and using their pattern of a cornucopia for the big center block. And for a touch of cuteness here is my granddaughter trying on her strawberry bib I made. Her first birthday is in a couple weeks and the theme is strawberry shortcake and I was asked to make a bib for her outfit. I think she likes it. Thanks for looking. Oh wait I haven't shared pictures of my Celtic solstice quilt all finished. Talk about service--I gave this top to my long armed Darby Myers (Quilted Squid--link on the righ

Bonnie Hunter Celtic Solstice Mystery Update

Here's the link  to everyone else who did the mystery and posted at Bonnie Hunter's Quiltville's Quips & Snips page.  But you are here to see my top. Here is it on my bed.  It is currently at the long arm quilter, Darby from  Quilted Squid .  She's going to pantograph purple bats throughout.  Then after she gets done it will take days to sew binding down on this bad boy.  It's about 94 x 110 or something crazy like that.  And of course I will have to label it. Thanks for looking.

My Christmas Quilt is Done

Done! Finally. This quilt used up 60 fat quarters. Yea. Pattern from Pieces From My Heart called Shopping's Done! Gifts Wrapped! I made an adjustment by keeping the background all the same in each block. I machine quilted to myself--swirled the background, squiggley line in the gift and in the ditch. It's about 92" x 90". Big enough for my bed. For this next Christmas. Will be working on labels this weekend and some block of the months. A few friends and I are heading to Bakersfield on Sunday for their quilt show. A blog friend Kay Pennington is the featured artist. Check her blog out--it's QuiltedTime. Link on the blogs I follow----> Thanks for looking.   Posted with Blogsy
