Another great day with my Material Girls. Today was the day we reveal our annual challenge. This year it was all about hexagons. I showed mine a few posts ago, the I Spy quilt I made for my grandson. Here's what the other girls made.
Neither Diane nor I got good pictures of Kathy M's flowers. |
Diane's M's cute floral strip quilt. So precious. |
Lynn Marie N's wonderful 3-d like blocks. Love her color arrangement. |
Maxine K's flower quilt. |
Rita B was kind of sad that she got hexagon confused with octogons but we figured the little areas around the octogons are elongated hexagons. :) Happy accident. |
Debbie VF's -her quilting is amazing on this. |
Pam L's quilt -oops she did the same thing a few years ago. |
Deolinda followed in Pam's footprints and didn't get a challenge in. |
The beauty of our challenges are they won't get mad or kick you out of the friendship group if you don't participate. It's purely voluntary and it was a way for us to challenge ourselves to try something new.
So some of us brought show and tell.
Here's me and my Vintage Moments top. |
And my summer basket quilt |
Elaine's Vintage Linen top marked and ready for someone else to quilt. :) |
Diane K's quilt for another baby. |
Maxine has last years' challenge quilt all basted and ready for quilting. |
Debbie finally finished her Cathedral Window challenge. This picture does not do it justice. |
Carol took some old jewelry and made this gorgeous tree. |
I think I will be going through my mom's jewelry box when I visit at Christmas.
We have in the past each given little gifts for Christmas. One of the things I was making these last few weeks were these little giveaways.
Starbuck bottles filled with Nutella Puppy Chow |
And then I wrapped each one with a fat quarter. |
I came home with lots of great stuff. I love these ladies. Here we all are.
In order from the top - Elaine, Me, Pam, Sheila, Rita, Lynn Marie, Barbara B, Deolinda, Anna, Maxine, Debbie, Kathy, Diane and Carol |
We were missing 3 of our girls today. So Janice, Sue and Adena, - we missed you. Hope to see you all soon. Well I'll see Janice on Wednesday, but Sue and Adena, well I might see Adena on Friday at Party Party and I'm going to her house next Sunday for a cookie exchange. Okay Sue - I hope to see you soon!
Thanks for looking.
Thanks for the photos. I wish I could have been there.
