Pointless Quilter

First I finished my tree skirt. I wanted something big and this is about 60" square. Just a quilt pattern that I cut a hole in the center. I just quilted with all over swirls. And here it is under my new tree. Tonight I finished binding this neutral quilt. This is a gift for a couple that were and still are good to my folks. I free motioned feathers all over. Now it just needs a name and a label and it will be ready to wrap. We had my in-laws over for a quiet Thanksgiving. Here's a picture of my table. I used my china and crystal which I haven't used for years. Besides food see what else is missing? Jeff and I got all the food on the table and realized I never got around to putting silverware out. This dragonfly Has dyed his body Autumn His is my interpretation of the haiku. I wanted to play with my paint sticks, metallic thread and some ideas I got at Cindy Needhams design workshop. Sara felted some yarns and made a purse and then added this gorgeous dragonfly. Barbara Sawyer also made a fall colored purse Anna (with a cute little smirk) took her piece that was from the Danny Kaye quote challenge and added these copper rubbed pieces and some copper leaves. Was a nice night catching up with the girl. Our next challenge will be storyboard challenges. We each do a story board of ideas and things we like and then pass them around and make a quilt using the board for inspiration. And Anna got this for me for my birthday. So sweet. I finished 4 quilts in the last week or so and I can't show you them all.  First, I finished my friendship group's Dresden challenge.  Can't show it until after our Christmas Party - I also finished the 12" exchange quilt that I showed in the last post.  And I quilted a guild charity quilt as a warm up. I did finish and am able to show this little linen quilt.  I don't know where the linen came from - maybe a thrift shop.  But while at Cindy Needhams design class I took advantage of her stencil collection and marked this baby. You can't see but I quilted the flowers in the middle and feathers in the border with an aqua thread so it really stands out.  The rest was done in Aurifils clear thread which I really liked working with. Just haven't really finished anything I can show.  And just to prove it - here are snippets of what I've done. This is a finished piece - for a Christmas gift exchange. This is a part of my Dresden Plate Challenge that I am currently machine quilting. I also machine quilted a guild charity quilt.  Didn't take a picture but practiced my feathers.  It had been a while since I had sat at a machine so this was a great warm up to the projects I have pinned and ready to go.   I am also going to be doing Bonnie Hunter's Mystery Quilt again this year called Celtic Solstice.  She used Orange, Green, Blue and Yellow - but I decided to make mine with Halloween colors - still using the orange and green but using purple and black instead of blue and yellow.  And white for the background.    And for Halloween we don't dress in costume at work but I did wear all my Halloween fun stuff - spider earrings and ring, and I put colored hair pieces i...
