My Seattle Trip

Last year when I took my dad to Arizona, we had some trouble with Southwest Airlines (didn't have a wheelchair for my dad when we got off the plane after many promises).  Anyway, we each got a $150 coupon to use in the next year so I decided to go visit my younger sister Beverly in Washington.  We had a fun filled few days.  Here are some of the fun things we did.

Chihuly Garden & Glass Museum (which is located near the space needle).

These were just a few of my favorite pieces.  So amazing what he did with glass blowing.  This is where we went the first day I got there.  We went to the Museum, we walked to Pikes Place and had dinner and then went home.

The next morning we got up and drove north to the Mount Vernon area where we were able to see the tulip farms.  Another inspirational day of color and beauty.

After that we went to my nephews college campus and he gave me a tour.  I was able to get a picture with him that he would not let me post on Facebook but he didn't say I couldn't post it to my blog.

He's just finishing up his first year at Western Washington University.

We had a great dinner with him and my sisters niece and her baby (from her hubby's side).

The next morning we went to take a class in English Muffin baking at the Bread Lab for Washington University  - and run or sponsored by King Arthur Flour.

And yes, I've already made a batch of English Muffins for my co-workers one morning and my sister made crumpets the night after our class when we had dinner with her friend.

I left the next morning for home.  I had had a busy week before all of this trip.  I had to attend a business meeting in Fort Worth for 1 night which was interesting.  And in between all those trips my dad had a procedure done on an aneurysm in his stomach aorta so I went to stay with him for two nights.  Oh, and I also drove to Bakersfield amid all this chaos to go to a Bonnie Hunter class.  Did I take any pictures, no, but if you check her blog here you can see me and my block in a few pictures.  I'm the one in the lime green shirt and my blocks are orange and cream.

Thanks for looking.

  1. The glass works are truly beautiful.
How appropriate that you visited a tulip place.
I bet the cooking class was fun. Remember, we went to King Arthur Flour in VT.
And of course, Bonnie Hunter. That was a fun day. Her energy level is amazing. I'd love to attend a class at her retreat center when she gets it up. but I don't know how people travel with their machine on a plane. AND take all their supplies????
