I went on a mini retreat at a friends house this past weekend. It was a great time - just 3 of us and very relaxing. Lots of good food and fellowship. Her husband is a top-notch barbeque-r. And I had fun dancing and playing with her granddaughter who was also there.
I got a lot done. First I finished the 2016/2017 Fat Quarter Shop Designer Mystery quilt top. It's a very spring like quilt. Not sure how I want to quilt it. Hopefully when I pin it tomorrow night something will come to me.
I also got these two boutique item tops done.
I also worked on a couple bags. The small one on the left I finished before I left, but the other's I made this weekend. They have a vinyl front so you can see what's in your bag. It's a pattern called Whatcha Got? from This & That.
I also made this doozy of a bag. It gave me fits and I would not have been able to do it if I wasn't with Anna. She has made enough bags to figure out what the directions meant. There are a lot of parts to it and the naming could have been done a little better. I made some mistakes and Anna had some solutions so I didn't have to start over. I really like the bag. It opens wide like an old fashioned doctor's bag. I am going to use it as my cosmetic travel bag. The pattern is called Tool Tote by Quilts Illustrated.
And this little girl was very happy mommy came home.
Tomorrow I pin the quilts above and with that I will have 5 quilts that will be pinned and ready for me to quilt. I bought a used Koala Cabinet for my sewing room and this will be the first real test to see how I like it. I finally got the insert but there is still a little lip that I'm hoping won't cause me problems. We shall see. I got the table for $200 so I couldn't pass it up. So if I only use it for a short time, I'm okay with that.
Thanks for looking. Oh and 30 days until me and 7 friends will be leaving for our adventure to Sister's Oregon for the outdoor Sister's Quilt Show.
