Monthly BOM Update and Bonnie Hunter Mystery has begun

Bonnie Hunter, from Quiltville - Allietare Mystery,  annual mystery has begun.  She always posts the first clue on the Friday after Thanksgiving (link above).  She gave the color and fabric requirements a few weeks ago so we all had time to gather our fabrics from our stash or the stores.  I finished the first clue today - 294-- 1.5" finished half-square triangles.

I also finished this past week or so my Block of the Month blocks/pillows.  Here they are.

We had a little holiday celebration with my step-daughter and her hubby and kids, my in-laws and my hubby and I.  It was a quick trip just to see them really and have a little thanksgiving dinner.  I got to play with my grandkids.  It took a while for Dylan to warm up to me but once she did she was a non- stop chatter box.  I didn't quite understand all that she said.  I also didn't understand everything that Jack says but because he talks fast too.  I had a lot of fun playing with them both, playing chase and basically giggling and laughing.

The Tuesday after we visited, our son-in-law was promoted to sergeant at his job and both kids were able to attend the ceremony.

Such a handsome little guy and fun and smart too.

And to end on a holiday note, I got my Christmas decorations up and the first thing Walter did was climb under the tree to take a nap.  He is laying right under the area where I hang my collectible Doxie ornaments that my husband gives me each year.  In 2006 when I opened my ornament, my dog Sparky's tag was hanging on it.  It was the year she died.  And two years ago, he put Duchess' tag on it.  I get teary eyed every year when I look at them.  Pretty soon Walter will be on one.  He's 13, blind and overweight and getting harder and harder for him to get around  He is an excellent barker and eater though.

I have a couple of busy weeks ahead as I'm sure most of us do at this time of year.  I have some ornaments to make for the exchange with my siblings.  And gifts to wrap and get shipped off.  And it looks like I might be gone for a couple days for a business trip.

Thanks for looking.
