Pointless Quilter

 It was a good year for me with cross stitch.  I found great comfort making small and large pieces.  If you need the name of a pattern let me know and I'll look it up, but for this post I'm just going to post pictures.  These are not in any particular order.   Sugar Stitches ornaments  I bought a small white tree and some small pink ornaments and put this up in my sewing room. I did this in honor of my mom's dad--my favorite grandpa.  The top says Eat Well, Costs Nothing.  He liked to say that when he would take you out for dinner (because he always treated). Some of these I completed before - I just put them together in a pillow this year. These are Prairie Schoolers annual Santas. Blackbird Designs Gifts for my two stitchy friends in California. Notice I added and quilting below cross stitch. I fully finished this but didn't get a photo of it. This might have been finished last year. Stitched but not framed yet.  I have the frame....

It's been kind of  slow month.  My machine (Bernina 750) has been in the shop for the past two weeks so not a whole lot of quilting going on.  But I did finish a cross stitch piece.  It's a Prairie Schooler Santa.  See photo above.  This is the one with the Sewing Machine.  I also have the pattern with a quilt and that will be the next one I work on.  They are pretty easy patterns and they use mostly the same DMC colors so they all coordinate.  They have an annual Santa.  The one with the sheep is from this year and the sewing machine one is from a previous year. As far as the Bonnie Hunter 2019/2020 mystery Frolic goes, I was caught up until yesterday.  Now that my machine will be back (today) I can work on yesterday's clues.  I don't have pictures of my finished Clue 1 & 2 but here are pictures of the pieces I needed to make those clues.  I'm trying to do mine in Fall colors.  It will be dark (not a lot o...

Quick update on my dad.  He spent 6 weeks in a wonderful rehab center and is at home with full-time home health care and getting physical and occupational therapy at home.  I am finally home and adjusting to a new type of life (still no job but some interviews lined up).  He's a remarkable man with a strong will to live. It's finally cooling off around here so showing a fall topper I finally finished is appropriate.  I've been working on this on and off for about a year.  It's all wool except for the backing.  The patterns and some of the wools were purchased during my New England trip about 6 years ago.  It's about time I got around to getting it done.
