2020 Goals and projects

So for 2020 our friendship group is having a similar WIP challenge as a popular quilt magazine.  You list 10 items on your WIPs list and assign a month to it.  Your goal is to at least work on that quilt during that month.  You don't have to finish the quilt - just make some progress.  We also have a second challenge to use a ruler, template or tool that you bought and have never used and to include text somehow.  Here is my quilt list for 2020.  a 1.  Finish the 9 pillow sleeves I started 2 years ago.  (February) 2.  Orca Bay (Started about 3 or 4 years ago)  (May) 3.  Straits of Mackinac (Green & White) (October) 4.  Summer Swoon 16 (March) 5.  Boutique Items (September) 6.  Frolic (April) 7.  Aqua/White Circle of Illusion (June) 8.  Block of the Year Christmas Applique (August) 9.  Fall Runner for Brenda (July) 10.  Snowman Embroidery (November) 11.  Little Box of Fig...

2019 Quilt and Cross Stitch Parade

Even with this being the crappiest year, I have surprised myself on how much I did get done.  I had 13 items on my 2019 Goals list and I was able to finish 8 of them.  (Orange Jamestown Landing, Good Fortune BH Mystery) Black/Tan Idol quilt, Guild mystery, Moda Blockhead, Consignment Blue quilt, Trick or Treat, Material Girl Challenge-curved leaves)  Cross Stitching has been added to my hobby list which was a blessing to have since I spent a lot of time sitting in a hospital and rehab with my dad.  So without any further ado... The Quilts... The Cross Stitching... The Common Thread Quilt Guild Annual Boutique Items (there were more I just didn't take pictures of everything this year. And the 2019 Ornament Exchange... Tomorrow I'll work on my goals for 2020.  Since my friendship group is having a list of WIPS to work on it shouldn't take me that long for the quilts.  I also have kitted up about 13 new cross stitch patterns so I'll...

A Machine Applique Finish

Piecing the Past Quilts- Stitchers  had a block of the month a bit ago that I was gung ho to participate in.  I wanted to try the turn under with glue method and then small zig zag the pieces down.  After 5 blocks I just ran out of time so decided to piece with some blank squares and use some of the other blocks as machine quilting designs.  I machine quilted a feather of some type in each block and just scribbled around the other pieces.  It's all ready to hang in my room when I change to my blue/white theme.    And I've been getting back into cross stitching and here are some pieces I've finished stitching.  Haven't done the finish work on them yet.  Explain more later.  I think I will start working on these Prairie Schooler ornaments from now on.  These pumpkins were part of a set from Just Cross Stitch Magazine (an old one). This was also from Just Cross Stitch Magazine.  It's a Hands On design...

2018 - A year in review

You never think you do a lot until you try to put all the pictures together at the end of the year and then think to yourself, I did a ton of stuff! And the ornament exchange between my siblings.  We have to make a home made ornament for the siblings.  The older kids also get an ornament instead of money or other gifts now.  Welcome to adulthood.  :) Thanks for looking. Tomorrow I will work on my 2019 goals and a review of how I did with my 2018 goals.
