2023 Review of other Crafts

Not only did I Quilt and cross stitch this past year, but I attempted some other crafts.  Some of the things I'm going to show will be some items that I didn't make but that I helped or taught others to make.  I also belong to a craft group that meets once a month and there are a few fun things for that.  And others items are just things I thought I'd try. Craft Group - it's a group of about 14 ladies from my sisters neighborhood (mostly) and we meet once a month and have a great lunch and then do a fun craft.  Here are the crafts I made this year through them.  I wasn't able to make it to all of them so there won't be 12 crafts. I made this apron for one of my craft group friends who had a friend who became a master gardener (I just did the embroidery.) I embroidered on these aprons for us food service ladies for Adventure Club at church. I went to a retreat in the fall with my friend Beth Rhodes and made everyone a little Halloween treat bag. 2023 Year in Review - Quilts

I can't believe I didn't blog at all in 2023.  I'd love to say I'm just too busy but that wouldn't be the truth.  I easily could have found the time to update.  I will try to do better this year.  I'm going to split my updates between quilting and cross stitching and other crafting stuff plus life updates to keep the post from being too long or picture heavy.  I did quilt some this past year, more than I thought I had.  Amazing when you have to go back to look to see how much you actually accomplish.  Anyway, here are the quilting projects I finished this past year.  (I just show finished stuff.  I have a top that is pinned but not quilted yet.) Moda Blockheads (given away already to Kathleen McGraff) A new valentine quilt for my guest room And pillows for the guest room (machine embroidered designs) This top was given to me with a light blue border.  I changed the border fabric to green and made it a Christmas quilt.   B...

A Quilt Finish or three and some cross stitch finishes.

I'm back in a sewing room.  It's not quite done yet, but it's usable to sew.  The other stuff that needs to get done takes time (my nephew is installing shelves in my closets and I still have to paint them).  I will post pictures once that all gets done and everything is put in its place. But I have three quilt finishes to show.  The first is a baby quilt I made for a co-worker (soon to be ex-coworker as my tenure with the company is almost done.)   Memphis Jo Rose- she will be born sometime in 2022.  Her bedroom theme is rustic rainbow.  Used polyester batting for the fluffy look but also used Minkee Cuddle on the back. This quilt is from the McCall's 2009 magazine and the pattern is called Celebrer!  It uses a lot of the heavier woven stripes from the French General Rouenneries collection which I will never use in a quilt again.  Too heavy - made the seams and machine quilting a little difficult.  I also used French General'...
