Pointless Quilter

I've been busy getting things made for my local guild's annual boutique.  This is our main fundraiser so we can have awesome teachers and to provide fabric and supplies for our charity quilts. I went on a retreat two weekends ago so I got a lot of tops done.  I've been quilting the items during the week. A lot of little gift bags - perfect for a gift card and some candy Cord tacos -perfect for keeping your phone cords from getting tangled Little pillow made from left over blocks from a quilt a friend was making at the retreat.  I backed it with minkee fabric.  Oh so soft. This was a kit from one of Fat Quarter Shops monthly surprise boxes. Picked up this fabric on the Sisters Oregon trip in July. I finally finished another 2017 goal quilt and then a quickie little baby quilt. I embroidered these blocks sometime in 2016.  Didn't know what I was going to do with them and finally figured it out.  I didn't quilt a lot on this quilt since it will just be a wall hanging.   Plus I didn't want to quilt in the embroidered parts and thought it would look weird to have it heavily quilting all around and the blocks not quilted. I can't remember the name of the designer of the machine embroidery.  It's all on my old laptop which I'm too lazy to get and turn on and wait for it to load, etc. I also finished this little quilt.  It was from one of Fat Quarter's Shops sampler boxes. I used the little 3.5" blocks they supplied and everything else was from my stash.  Even the back. And the best news of all was that I bought a new car.  Well, the bank still owns it - I will be making payments.  But my little Nissan was not as dependable as I...

Well, not so quick if you consider that I did the actual machine embroidery in March.  But I did finish this table runner this past week. This machine embroidery was done in sections and then each section sewn together matching the 'thread' that unites all the gingerbread men.  This was a pattern by Jana Davidson  through Turnberry Lane patterns called Ginger Garland.  Their sample was burgundy and brown scrappy but I found this gingerbread fabric and thought it was adorable and perfect for this. I'm working on my Halloween Machine Embroidery blocks now.  Designing as I go.  Should prove to be interesting. Thanks for looking.

Outside the cutest littlest quilt shop ever. I would have posted these before I left on my trip to the Sisters Outdoor Quilt Show, but my computer took a dive (15 month old Toshiba Satellite - the keyboard stopped working).  I took it to Best Buy to repair - which they couldn't and the warranty expired of course so they game me a wireless keyboard to use.  So much for a convenient laptop to take on trips. In January at the Road 2 California quilt show I took Anita Grossman Solomon's two color pineapple quilt.  My friend Janice took the class too and didn't want to start a new quilts so she made a couple of these blocks in the class.  So thanks Janice.  I finally finished it!  Yea!  I love it.  It can either be a Halloween quilt or if you are a San Francisco Giant's fan, it could be a quilt for you. In binding it, I found a whole section I forgot to quilt.  That has happened before.  Try as you might, you sometimes just miss a spot. And here are a couple little quilts for gifts or the guild's boutique.  The angel is actually a lap sized quilt - just looks small and the floral quilt is only 23" square.
